Nero was bred by Leah Anderson (Teton) and Sharon Kalous (Wintuk).

Nero… what to say about Nero? He transcends words, thoughts, emotions… because he's *Nero.* Everyone loved him - LOVED him (people and dogs alike) - and he loved everyone right back. He genuinely believed anyone who walked through the door was there to see *him.*

My first well-bred malamute, Nero was my intrepid partner as we ventured into the dog fancy as utter novices together. The one that started it all. He was the consummate lead dog - line always taut, listening to my every command, and keeping the girls on task. He was a jovial rally dog who earned several High in Trials in his career (including his - and my - first trial ever) and never failed to bring smiles to judges' faces. He was an absolutely stellar weight-pull dog, always putting his head down and pulling with all of his heart. Most of all: he was my best buddy.

Nero had no rules because he didn't need them. There was not a naughty or nefarious bone in his body. He was the epitome of ‘good boy,’ and it was a running joke that he acted the opposite of his namesake. He was… just Nero! My bud. My sweet, sensitive boy. Friendly and chatty, excellent with puppies, a bit of a scaredy cat, and always crawling halfway into my lap for 'malamute snuggles' (alongside burrowing his head in the cushions for a face massage). He loved my mom, dad, sister, and brother-in-law so much. All of my dogs adored and respected him; Titus, especially, thought he walked on water.

Thank you so much to Sharon and Leah for my beloved boy. In my first email to you, I said I'd be 'over the moon' to get one of your puppies, and I was over the moon every minute of every day I had him. There will *never* be another like Nero.

Everyone: hug your pups today, tomorrow, every day. This was sudden, completely unexpected, and I thought I had a lot more time with him.

Nero, buddy, I love you to the moon and back.
